MEAT

Food Safety Testing Solutions for Beef, Pork, Poultry, and Fish Products

When it comes to raw meat and other products with a short shelf life, testing time is almost as important as accuracy. While reliable methods are essential for preventing the presence of pathogens, testing delays can lead to wasted product and lost profits. With a complete range of industry-leading diagnostic solutions, bioMérieux helps protect your customers, your brand, and your bottom line—thanks to rapid results, streamlined workflows, and unrivaled specificity.

TEMPO®

Quality Indicator Testing

With TEMPO, bioMérieux provides a fully automated quality indicator solution to fit your companies unique timelines and improve upon traditional testing methods.

The difference between an accurate quality indicator test result and a flawed one can make the difference between trending and a production-stopping problem. Stay in control and improve your operational efficiency with convenient, accurate, and rapid QI tests.

TEMPO has been approved by Health Canada as part of the Laboratory Procedures for the Microbiological Analysis of Foods for the following:

  • Determination of Viable Aerobic Mesophilic Bacteria in Foods
using the TEMPO® AC (Aerobic Count) method
  • Enumeration of coliformsin a Variety of Foods
using the TEMPO® CC (Coliform Count) Method
  • Enumeration of Escherichia coli in a Variety of Foods
using the TEMPO® EC (E. coli Count) method
  • Enumeration of Yeasts and Molds in a Variety of Foods
using the TEMPO® YM (Yeasts/Molds Count) method- MFLP-108
  • Enumeration of Staphylococcus aureus in a Variety of Foods
using the TEMPO® YM (Yeasts/Molds Count) method- MFLP-109

VIDAS®

Pathogen Detection

VIDAS is an automated, multiparametric immunoassay system. This uniquely designed testing device stores the calibration in the analyzer's memory, thus optimizing the cost-per-sample result. Plus, with its ready-to-use reagents, minimum maintenance, easy-to-use and uni/bi-directional interface, labor cost and turnaround time are also optimized.

The automated food pathogen detection system is optimized for food production and farm applications.

VIDAS has been approved by Health Canada as part of the Laboratory Procedures for the Microbiological Analysis of Foods for the following:

  • Detection of Salmonella spp. in Foods
    by the VIDAS® SLMTM Method
  • Detection of Listeria spp. In Foods and Environmental Samples
    by the VIDAS Listeria™ Method
  • Detection of Listeria monocytogenes in Foods
by the VIDAS LMO 2™ Method
  • Detection of Salmonella in Food Products
by the VIDAS® Easy Salmonella (SLM) Method
  • Detection of Salmonella spp. in food products and environmental surfaces
by the VIDAS® UP Salmonella (SPT) method
  • Detection of Listeria spp. in food products and environmental surface samples
    with VIDAS® UP Listeria (LPT)
  • Detection of Staphylococcal Enterotoxins in Food Products
Using the VIDAS® Staph Enterotoxin II (SET2), an ELFA (Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay) Technique
  • Detection of Listeria monocytogenes and other Listeria spp. in Food Products and Environmental Samples
by the VIDAS® Listeria species Xpress (LSX) Method
  • Detection of E. coli O157:H7 in Food Products
