Dr. McMullen received her doctoral degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Chronic Viral Diseases Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. McMullen’s research interests are focused primarily on blood cultures, antimicrobial susceptibility testing and resistance, and new technology for clinical microbiology.
