Dr. Victor Leung established the PHC Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) in 2013. He obtained his medical degree and Internal Medicine residency from the University of British Columbia. He then pursued combined fellowships in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology at McGill University. At PHC, he also directs the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) service. The IPAC and ASP service work closely together to combat the spread and development of resistance in the hospital setting. He also serves as an attending physician on the Infectious Diseases consultation service at PHC. In the last few years, Dr. Leung has been working on improving diagnostic stewardship to help drive better antimicrobial prescribing.
