The Power of Diagnostics in
Effective Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs

Join bioMérieux, Inc. for our fourth annual Knowledge Exchange thought-leadership symposium at ASM Microbe! The evening will include cocktails, dinner, and an interactive panel discussion about the power of diagnostics in effective antimicrobial stewardship programs.

It is estimated that up to 50% of all antibiotics prescribed in U.S. acute care hospitals are either unnecessary or inappropriate.1 Misuse of antibiotics has contributed to the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which is now one of the most serious threats to global public health. Antimicrobial stewardship is essential for optimizing patient outcomes and slowing AMR. Modifying the processes for ordering, performing, and reporting diagnostic tests for bloodstream, respiratory tract, and Clostridium difficile infections, can help reduce antimicrobial prescribing and improve patient care. Understanding and promoting the value of diagnostic stewardship is a powerful component for a comprehensive antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP).

Join us to learn about the vital role of fast and actionable diagnostics as part of effective antimicrobial stewardship programs. Our thought-leaders will share case studies and valuable insights about their ASP experiences, including factors that significantly impacted antimicrobial prescribing in their institution.
